Spring Home Decor: Brighten Up Your Space With These Rugs

Spring is approaching us, and with is come its trends. Floral has been huge in the past, and it’s back stronger than ever this year. If you’re feeling a little tired of that shag rug, or the darker colors, consider one of these beauties to brighten your space!

If you’re a bold type, opt for a floral and colorful pattern. If you just want to lighten up the aesthetic for the season, then a natural fiber may be the choice for you. (I personally am dying to put natural fiber runners in my high-traffic (err Embry's running paths) areas.

And of course, with any rug, you should always use a rug pad. They protect your floors from getting scratched, protect your expensive rug from wear and tear, and prevent it from wrinkling up or moving (which is especially great if you’re like me and have a rambunctious dog who loves sprinting through the house and showing off how hard they can jump off the bed and land on the rug making as much noise as possible).

My absolute favorite is by Rug Pad Corner, as they are made in the US, and completely non-toxic - no glue, chemicals or adhesives, which is fantastic for us because we are a completely Green/non-toxic house around here at chateau Stachelski.

I personally have one in every room under every rug, and I love how cushiony it makes them (I have the premium ones, great for hardwood floors to protect our bamboo). You wouldn’t think they are that important, but they truly make a serious difference and I wouldn't dream of buying the stuff regular stores sell with their rugs (sorry Pottery Barn, still love you).

I hope you enjoyed seeing the rug inspiration for spring. Rugs are a great way to change up a room, and as you know they help to really define a theme, separate areas of a room, and ground the furniture and decor.

Happy decorating!
